The Beginning

"Designed By Pullers For Pullers"

This has been the slogan for Mighty Harness since the company was created. Gary and his wife Dustie Godwin, being devoted pullers themselves, came up with this one of a kind harness design. They were not happy with the ones that were available at the time (a decade ago). Dustie had always been good at sewing, so they set out to make a harness that would work better for them. By trial and error and using their own pull dogs, they designed a heavy duty, competition quality pulling harness. Before they knew it, other people wanted them too. Always eager for competition, Gary and Dustie decided to make these harnesses and sell them as a hobby. Soon they were bringing them to pulling events and they have been used for over 8 years.

Here is where I come in. I bought my first APBT  (American Pit Bull Terrier) from Dustie and Gary 12 years ago. His name is "Duke" and he has been my constant companion and best-friend since then. As Dustie and Gary's careers took more of their time, I began helping Dustie sew the harness. Over 6 years time, Dustie taught me to make the entire harness. So when they decided to quit making them, I jumped at the chance to continue Mighty Harness. They have supported me 100% since I have taken over and I will never be able to thank them enough. I have been very lucky to now be doing something I love. Talking about dogs, working with dogs, being around people who love their dogs, and finally making a harness that is as strong as our bulldogs.
